5th Annual Ag Institute
The Norman Borlaug Heritage Foundation is holding its 5th Annual Ag Institute. This free educational event features several free education workshops as well as free food. For the first time, the event will take place in the newly restored 1915 Barn on the Birthplace Farm on Timber Avenue.
5th Annual Borlaug Ag Institute
The Norman Borlaug Heritage Foundation is hosting its 5th Annual Borlaug Ag Institute on July 18, from 9 AM to 2 PM. There is a change in the loacation even though we are on the same property. The first four events were hosted on the Boyhood Farm. This year the event will take place on the Birthplace Farm which is approximately 1/2 mile east and 1/2 mile south of Norm's Boyhood Home and the New Oregon #8 School.
The Ag Institute will feature several speakers and events along with free food and beverage for attendees. Here's a list of what will be taking place that day:

Directions to Borlaug Birthplace Farm
From Protivin take County B16 (also listed as 100th St.) west from Protivin, Iowa. From Protivin travel west on B16 for about four miles until you reach Timber Ave. Go north on Timber (a right turn off of B 16) for about 1/2 mile. The Birthplace farm and newly restored 1915 Barn will be on the west (left) side of the road. This route is blacktop most of the way except for 1/2 mile of gravel going north on Timber.
From Cresco take V58 south at the stoplight by the Veterans Memorial park (road goes between Signs and Designs and Sterling Pharmacy). You will travel south about 12 miles. When the road curves to the left towards Protivin, go straight onto the concrete road at the curve. Turn right when you see the Borlaug Heritage Farm sign (about 100 yards). You will go west on 200th St. for about 3 miles and then south on Timber Ave. about 1/2 mile.
From Highway 63 you will go about 6 miles east on 200th Street and then about 1/2 mile south on Timber Avenue.
